Metronet rail who were awarded two of the three contracts under the PPP to do the maintenance and renewal of nine of the lines were celebrating this week.

They have over 200 employees in its west London based trains division and they have had a whole year without injury. There employees which range from office staff, senior managers, chargehands and fitters have not took any time of in the last year through accident or injury. Also they annoounced there Victoria line track and signals maintenance staff had also had a good year where no time was taken off through work related injury.

They believe in focusing on six pillars of safety:

Safety leadership, risk assessment, health management, accident investigation, safety training and the way the job is done. They celebrated with a special cake.
